I'm taking my sweet brother-in-law to see the midnight premiere of Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows, Part 2!! It will most definitely be an epic ending to a series of books and movies that I have grown up with!

Stanley Cup Champions!
I have one happy hubby because the BOSTON BRUINS have won the STANLEY CUP!! I'm pretty happy too, I might add! Who would have thought that I would have become so interested in hockey?? lol We ended up grilling and watching game 7 (yes, it went to game 7!) at Corey Crawford's house. Brian played hockey and went to school with Corey, who now is the goalie for the Chicago Blackhawks. It was a great night, hanging out with friends, making new ones, and watching the Bruins end their 39 year streak!
Way to go Bruins!!

And to Heck with Georgia Tech!
The original reason for my trip to Georgia was for Miranda's wedding! (More to come on those festivities!!) However, getting there earlier than expected let me spend some extra time with some of my favorite people!
I was was there in time to help my sister move out of her freshman dorm room...I can't believe my sister is now a sophomore, let alone in college at all!! After moving her out, Shannon had cheerleading pictures and got to wear her UGA uniform for the first time!! I think we were almost as excited as she was!

Losing the Newlywed Nine (or maybe a lil more!)
Ok, so today I happened to bump into someone Brian went to high school with while at the drug store. She has had 2 babies in less than 2 years, and the younger one is only a few months old. However, she looks amazing! I swear, there can be no way she has had a baby so recently!!
If you put the two of us next to each other, and asked someone which one of us had a baby 3 months ago, I would be a dead wringer. It's that bad. I've heard of the 'newlywed nine,' but I didn't really think I would gain it...and I def didn't think I would gain more than that either! Looking at recent pictures of myself compared to pictures of my wedding, I'm disgusted.
Anyway, back to the girl with 2 babies AND the fabulous body ... She said she'd been doing this work out online called Body Rock. It's completely free and workouts are posted almost everyday. The workouts include just a few pieces of equipment, equipment that you can easily find other household items to use instead. Each exercise is broken down, step by step, and there's a quick video that runs through the workout.
So I tried it...what's the harm right?? lol This is me after my workout today...
I about died! It was soo intense! I was sweating like a pig, couldn't do all of the reps, and had to take breaks pretty frequently. I'm challenging myself to start doing this everyday, so when you talk to me, ask me if I did my Body Rock that day!

Revamped Bookcase!
Have an old bookcase around the house in need of sprucing up? Maybe a china cabinet or kitchen cabinets with glass doors?
Well, being newlyweds and still not having accumulated much of our own, we take advantage of what our family and friends are willing to part with! It just so happened that one of our friends was downsizing and had an old bookshelf she wasn't going to have room for! Just our luck!
Here it is, a plain wooden bookshelf....
So the wheels in my head started turning! We already had a can of white paint on hand (that we got for free by the way because it been dropped and was leaking...we just happened to have an empty white paint can that we poured it into...say hooray for a free gallon of paint! lol) and I have tons of wallpaper left over from our dining room, which I'm obsessed with by the way!
The bookshelf got a fresh (few) coats of paint...
...and some wallpaper....
(I promise I did most of the work on this! I just happened to snap pictures when Brian was touching up my mistakes! lol)
And voila!
It's hard to see the wallpaper, but it's kind of tone on tone damask with a sheen. The bookcase is the perfect new home for some of our wedding things that we just didn't know what to do with!

A little slow....
I have to apologize for being so slow on posting lately! I promise, I will have many to come! Things have been pretty hectic since I got home! I'm trying to step it up on the baby blankets, I have two diaper cakes to finish for Friday, and my little cheerleaders are performing today! Not to mention the oodles of laundry that had gone undone while I was away! lol Ooh, and I had some of the boys over for dinner last night for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals!! Sadly, Boston lost... :( But they'll get 'em on Saturday!! GO BRUINS!!
I will post more soon!! I promise!!
I will post more soon!! I promise!!

A Great Man
My grandfather was a great man, and I am blessed to have been able to call him Grandpa.
I've sat down and tried to write about the loss of my grandpa quite a few times. It's hard to put into words what someone means you, but all I know is that he was a great man and will be terribly missed.
I was at home, in Chateauguay, watching the Royal wedding, when I got the news. Thanks to my friend, Shannon, I made it the five hours until Brian got home from work. That night was a blur of phone calls and travel websites. Brian and I switched around my existing plans to come home and got him a flight with me.
Saturday night, we headed to Plattsburgh to catch a red eye to Ft. Lauderdale then an early morning connection to Orlando. My dad told me that everyone would understand that I couldn't make it, but I needed to be there. So after half of day of delays, we finally made it to Orlando on Sunday afternoon.
The service was Tuesday morning. All five grandchildren spoke. They played Elvis gospel music. The Air Force Honor Guard did a flag folding ceremony and a 21 gun salute. Grandpa would have been proud.
I was grateful to be with family and to have my husband by my side.
Richard B. Sargent, otherwise known as Dick, Sarge, Dad, or Grandpa, was a great man. He was a proud and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He took pride in being a retired Military Policeman with the United States Air Force. He was an avid NASCAR fan, golf enthusiast, memorabilia collector, and picture taker. He always took advantage of an opportunity to make someone laugh. He was definitely not afraid to try new things (whether that meant climbing on top of a race hauler or just putting on a pair of roller blades). He was so many things to all that knew him, but most importantly, he was an example of how to live life to the fullest and inspired those around him to do the same.
Grandpa was a great man, and I am a better person for being his granddaughter.
